Australia has ranked among the most desirable migration destinations in the world, according to a survey by the Economic Times magazine.

The magazine said Australia ranked second with over 1.2 million relocation internet searches registered.

“The attractiveness of the nation is derived from its nice environment, amiable populace, and well-rated public services, including healthcare and education,” the magazine said.

Canada ranked first with 1.5 million searches.

“The North American country has become the world’s most sought-after immigration destination after more than 1.5 million people looked for information on moving there online in the last year. The stunning scenery and good standard of living in Canada are major factors in this fascination,” the magazine said.

“Canada has difficulties despite its charm, especially when it comes to the cost of living. Globally, living in major cities like Toronto and Vancouver is among the most expensive options. Despite Canada’s other benefits, this affordability issue can discourage some potential immigrants.”

With its stunning scenery and excellent standard of living, New Zealand is the third most popular destination in the world for relocation.

“Prospective immigrants also rank the United Kingdom and Spain highly on their list of preferences,” the magazine said.

“Portugal and Japan ranked sixth and seventh respectively, while wealthy European countries like Germany, France, and Switzerland completed the top ten list.

“It’s interesting to note that, despite its widespread influence, the United States did not rank among the top choices for relocation.

“In a similar vein, nations with high living standards like Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Finland were left off the list—possibly because of their harsh winters,” the magazine said.
