PrintMelbourne’s Multicultural Hub will host a writing workshop for young people from refugee backgrounds later this month.

The ‘Writing Workshop for Young People from Refugee Backgrounds’ is an interactive workshop that will help up to 25 young people develop their creative written expression.

Many AMES clients will be eligible to take part in this free event, led by award-winning writer, educator and human rights advocate Arnold Zable.

The workshop aims to teach youths from refugee backgrounds how to express and see value in their own experiences and perspectives in a creative written form.

The celebration of different and unique cultures, social experiences and perspectives will be a central theme of the event.

This event is part of Melbourne Knowledge Week 2013 and is supported by the City of Melbourne. It will be held at the Multicultural Hub, 506 Elizabeth Street, Melbourne, on Monday, October 28 between 6.30m and 9pm.
