Long term youth unemployment triples since GFC (ABC)

Analysis by the Brotherhood of St Laurence has found the number of young people facing long-term unemployment has tripled since the global financial crisis. It warns of an unfolding ‘worst case scenario’ of some people aged 15 to 24 never getting work. While the Government warns of across-the-board budget cuts, it acknowledges the seriousness of youth unemployment and says it’s working to fix it.
