Scott Morrison offers significant concessions as Senate debates migration bill (ABC)

The Immigration Minister Scott Morrison is proposing to increase Australia’s humanitarian intake and give work rights to asylum seekers in Australia on bridging visas, if the Senate passes an omnibus migration bill before Parliament rises at the end of this week. The Government says the bill is designed to deal with the 30,000 asylum seekers who haven’t had their claims resolved and are in detention or in the community.
